Castello  Dei Baroni was originally built in 1783 as a hunting lodge and is now the headquarters for the Knights Hospitallers of the Sovereign Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, The Ecumenical Order . We have opened this gem to allow a unique insight into the history of the Knights Our tour comprises of an audio-visual that will give you an exclusive look at the full history of the Knights, a story that cannot be seen anywhere else in Malta! The rest of the tour consists of a mixture of artefacts and stories about the Knights that you are sure to find intriguing. Should you not wish to  partake in the tour we have a number of other activities taking place onsite; You will find a warm reception at our coffee shop should you care to have lunch whilst here. Browsing around our Art Gallery and gardens are also a great way to spend the day. The Saluting Battery in Valletta occupies one of the best vantage points in the capital overlooking the grand Harbour and its environs.  Its origins date back to the time when Valletta itself started being built in 1566 by the Knights of St. John.  Just a year before that, during the Great Siege of Malta, its strategic location was skilfully used by the invading Ottoman army to lay siege to Fort St. Angelo across the harbour. Positioned on the lower tier of St. Peter and st. Paul's Bastion this battery commands the whole of the harbour and a good part of the land that surrounds it .  The Saluting Battery is located at the  right extremity of   Valletta's front as one enters it.  One can reach it by walking past the Auberge de Castille (present day office of the Prime Minister) heading straight into the Upper Barracca Gardens and down the steps at back of the main fountain in the Gardens.  Alternatively one can reach it from  Battery Street on the side of the garden. The Malta at War Museum stands to document for posterity the great  ordeal which the brave people of Malta and their defenders endured during the dark days of the blitz. This museum combines an attractive exhibition about the Second World War in Malta, the viewing of a 30-minute original wartime documentary, "Malta G.C." and an underground air raid shelter. Extensive use of original artefacts and creative forms of interpretation highlight all important aspects of this epic. Some 40 feet deep into the live rock right under the museum, there is an incredible maze of tunnels in which hundreds took refuge from aerial bombings during the last war. Distinctly different from any other wartime shelter of the period, this example was designed to accommodate the rescue services of the Three cities and the principal community leaders and their families. This underground refuge complex contained a first-aid post, a gas-decontamination chamber, a surgery, public offices and a birth

Cruises to the Venetian Villas of the Brenta Canal from Padua to Venice along the old waterways the ancient  Venetian burchielli.
